FAQ
Before the poles go up
Everything we get asked on the phone, in one place. Anything else: 01632 960 418.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need access to the back of the house, so leave a side gate unlocked and tell us about dogs. You get the photo report by email either way, and you pay by bank transfer or card link after you have seen it.
How do you clean a gutter you cannot reach with a ladder?
Most cleans use a carbon-fibre pole with a high-power vacuum, worked from the ground up to three storeys. A camera on the pole shows us inside the gutter, and those pictures become your report. Ladders come out for repairs, guard fitting and anything the pole cannot clear.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most houses, in late November after the leaves are down. Houses near trees, especially sycamore, pine or birch, usually need a second clean in late spring. That is why the twice-yearly plan exists.
What happens if you find damage?
We photograph it and tell you before we touch it. Small fixes like a loose bracket, a dripping joint or a slipped downpipe clip are priced on the spot from our fixed list. Anything bigger gets a written quote and you decide later.
What if it rains on the day?
Light rain is fine; it actually helps us see where the water goes. In heavy rain or high wind we move you to the next free day and text you the new date the evening before.
Are gutter guards worth it?
If you have overhanging trees, usually yes: they cut a twice-yearly clean to one check a year. If your house has no trees nearby, a yearly clean is cheaper over five years. The comparison on our prices page shows both for your house.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. Everything that comes out of your gutters goes into sealed bags and back to the yard for composting. Nothing is left on your lawn or in your bin.
Are you insured?
Yes, with public liability cover for working at height on residential property. A copy of the certificate is sent with every booking confirmation.
How do I pay?
After the job, once you have the photo report. We send a card payment link by text and email, or you can pay by bank transfer. Plan customers pay per visit, never up front.
Can you clean a three-storey house or a townhouse?
Yes. Our poles reach three storeys from the ground. Above that, or where the ground at the foot of the wall is not safe to work from, we quote for access equipment separately.
Do you clean flat roofs or roof valleys?
We clear valley gutters and the outlets of flat roofs as part of an all-round clean, from the ground or a ladder. We do not clean or treat roof coverings themselves.
How do I cancel the twice-yearly plan?
Reply to any reminder text or email us. There is no notice period and nothing to pay for visits we have not made.
Still wondering about something?
Send us a photo of the roofline and the question. We reply the same working day.
